Introducing: The British Accents Blog

The British Accents Blog is here. In case you missed it, the newsletter has recently been having email server problems, most likely rooted in the emails mistakenly being identified as spam, which disabled the britishaccents@gmail.com email account's ability to send out the weekly newsletter.

I, in turn, created an alternate email address (britishaccentsradio@gmail.com) and sent out an email soliciting suggestions as to how to fix this problem. Enough of you wanted a blog that I went ahead and created this one.

For those who still want to receive the weekly emails in your inbox, I'm working on a solution to that problem as we speak.

You can go to:
http://www.r-mail.org/

and enter in your email address and one of the following feed addresses for this site for free:

http://britishaccents.blogspot.com/atom.xml
or:
http://britishaccents.blogspot.com/rss.xml

and you will receive this site's updates in your email box.

R-Mail also has a widget at the bottom of that page to put on your blog to make it easier for visitors to subscribe.

Of course you could also use the above atom or rss addresses to put in whatever feed reader you use.

I have a theory that the Liverpool accent is from Viking Welsh people.
The Upper class accent is from French niomrnas killing off the English elites. Also that Amercian accent is Scottish and Irish. What does everyone else think.

Richard Herring should do some work on accents.
